Pokemon GO Shadow Raid Boss schedule (May 2025)

Pokemon GO trainers can look forward to a fresh lineup of Shadow Raids in May 2025, featuring powerful Shadow Pokemon, including the legendary Shadow Regirock. These raids offer a tougher challenge than regular raids, with boosted attack and defense stats for the Shadow Pokemon.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Shadow Raid bosses, their schedules, and how to participate.

Pokemon GO Shadow Raids come in three tiers: 5-Star, 3-Star, and 1-Star. While 3-Star and 1-Star raids appear daily, the 5-Star raids are exclusive to weekends.

The highlight of May 2025 is Shadow Regirock, appearing only during weekends. This legendary Rock-type Pokemon can also be encountered in its Shiny form.


Three mid-tier Shadow Pokemon will be available throughout the month:
- Shadow Electabuzz
- Shadow Magmar
- Shadow Wobbuffet
These Pokemon do not have Shiny variants in Shadow Raids.


Four weaker Shadow Pokemon will appear daily, with some having Shiny potential:


Participating in Pokemon GO Shadow Raids requires a few key steps:
1. Find a Team GO Rocket-controlled Gym: Shadow Raids only occur at Gyms taken over by Team GO Rocket.
2. Use a Raid Pass: Standard or Premium Raid Passes are needed to join. Remote Raid Passes won’t work.
3. Subdue Shadow Pokemon with Purified Gems: These items weaken Shadow Pokemon during battle and are crafted from Shadow Shards.

- Team up with other trainers for higher-tier raids.
- Use Purified Gems early to reduce the Shadow Pokemon’s power.
- Spin Gym Photo Discs daily to earn free Raid Passes.
