One killed, six injured after shooting at North Carolina college

One person was killed and six others injured during a shooting at Elizabeth City State University, in North Carolina. The incident occurred early Sunday morning at the centre of campus following Viking Fest celebrations, according to a university statement.
A 24-year-old man, who was not a student, died in the attack. His identity is being withheld until his family is notified. Four people, including three students, suffered gunshot wounds but their injuries are not life-threatening. All the victims were taken to hospital for treatment.
The university imposed a campus lockdown and shelter-in-place order, which was later lifted. Officials said there is no ongoing threat to students or staff. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is working with local police to investigate the shooting and has asked the public to submit any information or footage.
