Actor and producer Nani has always walked a unique path in Telugu cinema, balancing mainstream success with meaningful storytelling. But in a recent candid conversation with ETimes, he revealed the compelling reason behind launching a new production company — all because of a cameo that snowballed into fan expectations and franchise pressure.

When Nani first launched Wall Poster Cinema, his goal was clear: to create a platform that judged creators solely on their ideas and stories, not their background, industry connections, or status. “When I started off there was no particular production house or set up where you can go go with a whacked idea they'll only judge you with the content you have. Not for who you are, where you're from, or who sent you,” he said. For Nani, this was about giving back to cinema — the very industry that gave him so much.

He was so committed to that ideology that he made a firm rule for himself: he would not act in any films produced under the banner. “This is for a purpose, this has an ideology,” he explained.
But then came HIT: The First Case and HIT: The Second Case — films that Nani co-produced. When the climax of HIT 2 called for a surprise cameo, there was only one logical option. “In the end, we thought some cameo in the climax would be nice. It'll give a certain high when you walk out of the theatre. So I thought, "I'm the producer, let me do it.”
That short appearance was enough to set off a chain reaction. Fans were thrilled, speculating about HIT 3 and expecting Nani to now headline the franchise’s next installment. But this presented a dilemma — acting in HIT 3 would go against the very principle on which Wall Poster Cinema was founded.
To stay true to his word while also embracing the momentum of the franchise, Nani found a creative solution. “Since I said I won't do it, we started another company” he shared.
And now, with HIT 3 officially on the way, fans have more than just the thriller to look forward to — they’re witnessing the growth of a homegrown franchise and the journey of an actor-producer redefining how stardom and storytelling can co-exist.
The film is directed by Sailesh Kolanu and features KGF fame Srinidhi Shetty.
