Ranveer Singh and
Deepika Padukone tied the knot in November 2018 in Villa del Balbianello in Lake Como, Italy. Their destination wedding was all things dreamy but did you know that Ranveer worked overtime and made sure that his work doesn't suffer when he takes time off during his wedding? Ranveer's co-star from 'Simmba' which was directed by Rohit Shetty, has now spilled some details about the actor. Popular actor
Vijay Patkar who was also a part of the film, shared the Ranveer gave immense respect to all the seniors on the set and never took a day off, except for his birthday, when Deepika had visited Hyderabad to meet him.
Vijay said in an interview with Filmymantra Media, "During Simmba, I saw it. I told Ranveer. ‘look at your eyes’, there were bags under his eyes. He said ‘Kya karu? Shaadi kar raha hu. Abhi karna padega. (What do I do? I am getting married. I will have to do this.)’ He was getting married so we had a fixed schedule and until then, we had to finish the shoot."
He added, "So from 9 am to 6 pm, he would shoot the fight scene in the police station, and it was fully physical. He would leave for the gym at 6 pm, come back on the set at 8:30 pm, and shoot for “Aankh Maare” from 9 pm until 6 am. This went on for seven days. He would sleep at 7 am for just 2-3 hours. He would say, ‘Kya karu? Shaadi hai. Meri hi shaadi hai. Mujhe hi karna padega (What do I do? It’s my wedding. I will have to do this)’. Simba’s release date was already announced by then."
Vijay also shared that Ranveer respected every actor on the set and their time. "Ranveer really respects his seniors on set. He will just sit and quietly listen when a senior is talking to him. He doesn’t act like, ‘I’m a star’. He is very good listener. That’s why he does good work."
So much so, that the 'Band Baaja Baaraat' actor even apologised even if he was two minutes late. “I have never seen an actor run towards the set because he was two minutes late. The sun was scorching and he was running and he came and apologised to everyone that he was late," he shared.
Ranveer is currently shooting for Aditya Dhar's 'Dhurandhar' which also stars Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan and Arjun Rampal.
