During the early 1990s, both Salman and Juhi were climbing the stairs of hits in the film industry. In a candid interview from that era the clip which was widely shared on social media, Salman openly expressed his admiration for Juhi's sweetness and charm. He recounted, "She is very sweet. Adorable girl. I asked her father if he will let her get married to me." However, his proposal was met with refusal. When asked about the reason, Salman shrugged and said, "Don't fit the bill, I guess."

While Salman remained one of Bollywood's most eligible bachelors, Juhi found her life partner in businessman Jay Mehta, tying the knot in 1995. Their union has been blessed with two children, a daughter named Janhavi and a son named Arjun.
