'Emergency' box office collection day 12: Kangana Ranaut starrer crosses the Rs.17 crore mark as it comes close to completing its two-week theatrical run

The ‘Queen’ of Bollywood, who shone as ‘Jhansi ki raani’ in ‘Manikarnika’ took the role of India’s former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the movie ‘Emergency.’ Showcasing one of the most sensitive chapters of India’s historical and political landscape, the movie made it to the big screens on January 17, 2025. It opened with a decent collection of Rs. 2.5 crore, which was higher than its competition ‘Azaad’ (released on the same date), according to the Sacnilk report. The movie is now close to its two-week run at the theatres and has crossed Rs.17 crore mark.
Emergency Movie Review
The movie benefited from the Republic Day weekend. On January 24, the movie made only Rs. 0.4 crore on Friday, and on Saturday (Jan 25), it went up to 0.85 cr, which means a rise of 112.50 percent. Thereafter, on Jan 26, Sunday, the movie’s collection further went up by 35.2 percent and it made Rs. 1.15 crore. However, on Monday the movie saw a sharp dip and the movie made Rs. 0.2 crores, and according to the Sacnilk report’s early estimates, on Tuesday it made a similar business.

The movie is inching to make Rs. 20 crore by the end of the week. However, now with the release of Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya’s ‘Sky Force,’ it would be interesting to see the changing dynamics at the box office.
