KAKINADA: Three people were killed and two others seriously injured after a car collided with a parked lorry on the National Highway in Tuni, Kakinada district.
The five victims were sales executives working for
Apollo Pharmacy medical shops in Rajahmundry. They were travelling to Visakhapatnam on Friday to attend an Apollo sales meeting.
According to police, the car hit the lorry near the Government Degree College when the driver failed to notice the parked vehicle.
Those who died on the spot have been identified as Sheik Hazarath Ali, Gaddam Rama Raju, and Varadhi Sudheer. The injured, Venkata Subba Rao and Shiva Shankar, were initially taken to a local hospital in Tuni and later shifted to a private hospital due to critical conditions.
The Tuni rural police are investigating the incident.
